Kohli rested, Rohit to lead India in Sri Lanka ODIs

India captain Virat Kohli has been rested for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka with batsman Rohit Sharma set to lead the side in the 50-over format.

Kohli will skipper the India team in the third and final Test, starting in Delhi on Saturday, before taking a break ahead of the tour to South Africa at the end of December.

The India ODI squad shows two new faces with batsman Shreyas Iyer and seam bowler Siddarth Kaul included while Hardik Pandya returns to international cricket after being rested in the ongoing Test series.

The first ODI against Sri Lanka is set to take place in Dharamsala on 10 December.

The squads for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka and the Tests in South Africa will be announced next week.
