Mustafizur ruled out of T20 series against Afghanistan
Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will miss the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan due to a toe injury.
The left-arm paceman picked toe injury while playing in the recently concluded IPL for the Mumbai and subsequent tests have revealed a crack.
A statement by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said: “Subsequent tests have revealed a crack on his left big toe which will sideline him for a few weeks.
“It takes around three to four weeks to recover from such injuries and therefore he can’t play against Afghanistan.”
The news will come as a blow to Tigers interim coach Courtney Walsh as Mustafizur is one of the leading bowlers in the shortest format.
The series against Afghanistan starts on Sunday with all the matches being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Dehradun in India.
