New Zealand Cricket have confirmed Eden Park in Auckland and the Basin Reserve in Wellington as the venues for January 2014's two-Test series against India.

Auckland will also host the third of five ODIs, while Seddon Park in Hamilton have been granted two ODIs – and McLean Park in Napier and Westpac Stadium in Wellington one each.

"We felt that with the Tests in Wellington and Auckland, that Hamilton was the best spot for a second one-dayer, with a large Indian population on their doorstep," said NZC chief executive David White.

The schedule originally included three Tests, five ODIs and a one-off Twenty20 International, but one Test and the T20I were deducted – after the Board of Control for Cricket in India asked for the truncation in order to compete in the Asia Cup.

"Seddon Park will soon feel like a second home to the Indian team as they are also scheduled for a World Cup fixture in Hamilton in 2015," added Northern Districts chief executive Peter Roach.

"India is a much-loved team with a large number of passionate supporters, and our fans will be eager to see how the Black Caps, after recent success in one-dayers, go against the best one year out from hosting the World Cup."
