Former Test cricketers Martin Snedden, Geoff Allott and Richard Hadlee are among eight recommendations likely to be voted in as New Zealand Cricket's new board of directors.

Each nominee, to be elected, will require more than 50 percent of the votes cast by the delegates representing the country's major and district associations.

"It was a difficult job selecting the eight candidates from a range of quality nominees," said NZC president Stephen Boock.

"I am confident that through this thorough process we have found a group of people with the combined skill sets to drive cricket forward."

Don Mackinnon, Greg Barclay, Neil Craig, Liz Dawson and Stuart Heal, who all boast a background in sport and corporate administration and governance, completed the octet of recommendations.

The impending vote, which will take place at a special general meeting in Auckland on 19 September. is a result of the new NZC constitution approved two months ago.
