Hesson signs new New Zealand contract

New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson has signed a new contract that will see him stay with the Black Caps until after the 2019 World Cup.
Batting coach Craig McMillan, manager Mike Sandle, and strength and conditioning coach Chris Donaldson have also been retained.
NZC chief executive David White said: "This is very positive in terms of our succession planning, our preparation for the major events on the horizon and, not least, general team stability.
"It was really important for us to retain the intellectual property and institutional knowledge that these people have developed.
"Mike's the most successful coach in New Zealand cricket history and, in my opinion, the best selector we've ever had. To have him committed to the Black Caps until after the next World Cup is great news for all concerned."
New Zealand currently occupy fifth position in the nine-team Test rankings – and second in the second in the 12-strong ODI standings.
Hesson, who succeeded the outgoing John Wright in July 2012, added: "Being around a group which works together and is striving to head in the same direction is extremely rewarding.
"It's a privilege to be a part of the Black Caps culture and I feel lucky to be able to contribute to that for a little bit longer."
The Black Caps' next assignment is a two-Test series against South Africa in August.
