Captain Brendon McCullum has confirmed an unchanged XI for New Zealand's third and final Test against the West Indies, which will get underway at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Thursday.

The uncapped Jimmy Neesham had been called up as cover for all-rounder Corey Anderson, who has since recovered from a shin injury. Batsman Aaron Redmond and seamer Doug Bracewell will not feature.

The hosts sport an important one-nil series lead on the back of a rain-affected draw at the University Oval in Dunedin and innings and 73-run triumph at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.

"We're going to play the same team. It will give the guys the opportunity to build on what we've done in the last two Test matches," said McCullum.

"Who knows how it will play but I'm expecting it to be a good Test wicket. The important thing in Hamilton is the overhead conditions and the mugginess which is around. If there is some cloud cover then the ball can swing quite a lot.

"We've seen in previous Test matches here that a lot of wickets can fall in one session. We've got to be mindful of that with bat and ball."

The West Indies are yet to name a replacement for spinner Shane Shillingford, although fellow slow bowler Sunil Narine is expected to return.

Shillingford has been suspended, after an independent analysis ordered by the International Cricket Council deemed his bowling action illegal.
