The uncapped Anton Devcich has been named in New Zealand's limited-overs squad for next month's tour of Bangladesh.

Fast bowler Adam Milne and all-rounder Jimmy Neesham have been recalled, while wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi and the veteran James Franklin have been dropped. Spinner Daniel Vettori and Martin Guptill were not considered due to injury.

Devcich impressed for the A side against their Indian counterparts recently scoring, 115, 48, one and 66 in four List A fixtures in Visakhapatnam. He is expected to open the batting alongside fellow left-hander Hamish Rutherford.

"Anton showed very good signs against England last season for New Zealand A and has transitioned from a middle-order batsman to an aggressive top-order player," said new general manager of national selection Bruce Edgar Edgar.

"He is also an outstanding fielder with the ability to contribute as a left-arm spin bowling option, which will be useful in the sub-continent. Adam returns to the team after a number of injury concerns and he offers the squad genuine pace. We've been impressed with his rhythm and pace on the New Zealand A tour of India."

The limited-overs leg, which will be preceded by two Tests, will include three ODIs and a one-off Twenty20 International. The first ODI will get underway at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on 29 October.
