Pakistan finish poor England off at Lord’s

Pakistan made sure they cannot lose the two-match Test series in the UK when they comprehensively beat England by nine wickets at Lord’s on Sunday.
England came into the day with their total on 235/6, a lead of 56, with hopes that Jos Buttler (66 not out) and debutant Dom Bess (55 not out) can continue their good work from the previous evening.
Pakistan, however, had other ideas and were not going to let all their good work earlier in the game go to waste.
Seamer Mohammad Abbas trapped Jos Buttler in front in the second over of the morning with the batsman only adding one run to his overnight score.
The left-arm paceman, Mohammad Amir, then had Mark Wood (4) caught by Sarfraz Ahmed and Stuart Broad was out next over, caught behind odd Abbas.
Bess was the last man out for 57 as England were bowled out for 242 to set Pakistan a simple target of 64.
Abbas took 4-36 to finish with eight wickets in the game while Amir also took four wickets in the second innings.
James Anderson bowled Azhar Ali for 4 but Imam-ul-Haq (18 not out) and Haris Sohail (39 not out) took the tourists over the line before lunch on the fourth day.
England now face a must-win situation in the second and final Test that starts at Headingley on Friday.
