Pakistan hit back but Sri Lanka still on top

Pakistan fought back by taking five late wickets but Sri Lanka are still sitting in the drivers seat at the close of day three of the second Test in Dubai.
Left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz struck three times in the last half hour to reduce Sri Lanka to 34/5 at stumps but the visitors will still be the happier of the sides as hey enjoy an overall lead of 254.
This was after Sri Lanka bowled Pakistan out for 262 on day three in reply to their first innings total of 482 all out.
Spin twins Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera were the destroyers in chief for Sri Lanka, each taking three wickets, while seamer Lahiru Gamage and Suranga Lakmal chipped in with two scalps apiece.
Pakistan will be really disappointed in their batting effort on what is a relatively placid pitch, as they could not take advantage of a 610rum opening stand between Sami Aslam (16) and Shan Masood (39).
Only Azhar Ali (59) and Haris Sohail (56) showed any real fight with the willow as Asad Shafiq (12) and Babar Azam (8) failed in the day-night Test.
Sri Lanka opener Dimuth Karunaratne struck 196 as they posted a big first innigs total as they go in search of series win.
Pakistan need to win this Test to draw the two-match series after Sri Lanka won the first game in Abu Dhabi.
