Hafeez declared fit for Test series

Pakistan will be able to call on veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez for the upcoming Test series against Australia in the UAE, as he has recovered from his hand injury.

Hafeez split the webbing between two of his fingers before the limited-overs portion of the encounter, and thus missed the T20 and the three-match ODI series. The Aussies won all four games.

But he has now been ruled good to go for the two-match Test series, starting in Dubai on 22 October, with his five stitches no longer an issue. He has been advised to play with strapping though.

Dr. Sohail Saleem, PCB team doctor, said: “In my opinion he is ready to play.

“It is however advised that he should use support while bowling and fielding for the next few days.”

Pakistan will however be without fast bowlers Junaid Khan and Wahab Riaz, who were ruled out ahead of and during the ODIs respectively, while spinner Saeed Ajmal is still banned.
