Smith: De Kock got personal with Warner

Australia captain Steve Smith has suggested that Proteas wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock “got personal” with David Warner that sparked an ugly confrontation outside the dressing rooms on day four of the first Test in Durban.
In footage captured by CCTV cameras, Warner can be seen having to be restrained by his own teammates as he was trying to have a go at De Kock.
The ICC said they will investigate the incident after a report from the umpires and match-referee but Smith was in no doubt as to who was in the wrong after Australia won the first Test by 118 runs.

Smith said: “What was said and done during that interval was regrettable from both sides. Quinton [de Kock] got personal and evoked an emotional response from Davey [Warner].
“I think those things are not on, from both sides. Getting personal on the field is not on, and that’s crossing the line in my opinion.
“I think we were certainly chirpy on the field as well. As far as I know, we weren’t personal with Quinton.
“Right now, it’s in the hands of the umpires and the match referee. We want to see the match played in a hard-fought way in the next few Test matches, but played in the spirit of the game.”
Smith however stopped short of revealing what exactly De Kock said to provoke the angry response from Warner but reports say something was said about the opening batsman’s wife.
