Sri Lanka smash Tigers to complete T20 sweep

Sri Lanka produced a blistering batting performance to thrash Bangladesh by 75 runs in Sylhet with the visitors claiming a series sweep.

After being sent in to bat by the Tigers, Sri Lanka went on to get a huge total of 210/4 in their 20 overs with opener Kusal Mendis smashing 70 off just 42 balls, including six fours and three sixes.

There was further good contributions from fellow opener Danushka Gunathilaka (42 from 37 balls) as well as Thisara Perera (31 off 17 balls), Dasun Shanaka (30 from 11 balls) and Upul Tharanga (25 off 13 balls).

All the Bangladesh bowlers were expensive with left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman the pick of the bunch with figures of 1-39 in four overs.

The Tigers lost wickets at regular intervals in the run-chase to be behind the eight-ball at all times as the visitors smelt blood.

Only home captain, Mahmudullah, showed any resistance with 41 while Tamim Iqbal (29), Mohammad Saifuddin (20) and Mahedi Hasan (11) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures.

Shehan Madushanka and Gunathilaka picked up two wickets each with Sri Lanka following up their six-wicket victory in the first game with another dominant performance.
