BCCI to confirm Sri Lanka ODI dates, venues
The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s working committee will confirm the dates and venues of next month’s ODI series against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
The Sri Lankans were recently confirmed as the replacement opposition for the Indians, after the West Indies abandoned the tour due to a pay structure dispute between the West Indies Players Association and West Indies Cricket Board.
The five ODIs will likely take place on 2, 5, 8, 11 and 14 November, with Cuttack and Kolkata expected to host the opening two. Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad remain in contention for the final three.
“This is an ideal opportunity for some of the bowlers who have been around to grab their chance by performing against a top team like India. These players have been in the system for some time and thrown into the deep end we can see how they cope with the pressures,” said Sri Lanka chairman of selectors Sanath Jayasuriya.
