Woeful Windies wilt in one day finale

The West Indies suffered a sixth consecutive defeat to Pakistan in limited overs internationals as they slumped to a 136 run defeat in Abu Dhabi.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat, piling on the runs yet again reaching 308 for 6 from their allotted fifty overs.

Skipper Azhar Ali returned to form just in time as he smashed 101 from 109 balls and sharing an 85 run opening stand with Sharjeel Khan (38).

Ali and Babar Azam (117) would put on 147 for the second wicket which layed a great platform for Pakistan to launch from.

Azam went on to become the third Pakistani batsman to score three consecutive ODI centuries.

The West Indies never really looked like running Pakistan close, they were consistently behind the required rate and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Only Dinesh Ramdin (37) and Kraigg Brathwaite (32) got passed the thirty mark as the West Indies continued their abysmal form on this tour.

Pakistan’s bowlers were outstanding performing their roles to a tee with Mohammad Nawaz finishing as the pick with figures of 3 for 40 from nine overs.

The West Indies would crumble to 172 all out and suffer a 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series after they suffered the same fate in the T20Is.
