Daredevils knock Mumbai out of 2018 IPL

The Mumbai Indians blew their chances of reaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs when the fell to a 11-run defeat against the Delhi Daredevils on Sunday.
Needing a victory to ensure a top-four finish, Mumbai could not chase down a target of 175 as they instead were bowled out for 163 in the final over.
Opener Evin Lewis gave Mumbai a good start in the run-chase with 48 off 31 balls but the rest of the top-order failed to support the West Indian as the visitors slipped to 78/5.
Hardik Pandya (27) and then Ben Cutting (37) made sure the game went to the final over but the wicket of Cutting put paid to Mumbai’s hopes of a win.
Twin leg-spinners Amit Mishra and Sandeep Lamichhane both took three wickets for the Daredevils while Harshal Patel also picked up a trio of scalps towards the end.
Earlier, Delhi reached a total of 174/4 in their 20 overs thanks to another superb knock by Rishabh Pant.
The India international blazed his way to 64 off 44 balls while Vijay Shankar contributed an unbeaten 43 off 30 deliveries to set Mumbai a more than competitive target.
Despite the victory, Delhi will still the finish the IPL season in last position on the table.
