14. 119/9 vs Chennai Super Kings

This happened at Eden Gardens in Kolkata in the 2013 IPL. Gautam Gambhir and Yusuf Pathan put on 46 for the first wicket, but not much followed.

13. 116 all out vs Mumbai Indians

This happened at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai the 2025 Indian Premier League. Sunil Narine fell for a first-ball duck and Mumbai’s Ashwani Kumar took four wickets on debut.

12. 112/9 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

This happened in Sharjah in 2020. Opener and future captain Shubman Gill’s 34 accounted for exactly one third of the Kolkata Knight Riders’ 112 on the day.

11. 109 all out vs Punjab Kings

The venue was Abu Dhabi in 2014. It could have been a lot worse, had it not been for Suryakumar’s 34. He was batting at number seven for KKR at the time, but has gone on to greater heights for Mumbai and India since.

10. 109 all out vs Chennai Super Kings

The year was 2010 and the venue Eden Gardens. There was somewhat of a recovery from 55 for five, as tail-ender Murali Kartik scored 21 and shared a 25-run stand for the 10th wicket with number 11 Ishant Sharma.

9. 108 all out vs Mumbai Indians

Eden Gardens was the venue in the 2018 IPL. They were reasonably well positioned at 54 for three before the middle order folded and left a lot to do for lower-order duo Piyush Chawla and Tom Curran.

8. 108/9 vs Chennai Super Kings

This occurred in Chepauk in 2019. Four Kolkata batters got ducks, including Australia’s Chris Lynn, while Andre Russell hit a standalone 50 not out.

7. 107 all out vs Mumbai Indians

This happened in Bangalore during the 2017 Indian Premier League. Suryakumar Yadav, still batting as low as number seven in the order, again top-scored with 31.

6. 105 all out vs Mumbai Indians

The IPL season was 2013 and the venue the Wankhede Stadium. Captain Gautam Gambhir fell for a duck and England’s Eoin Morgan was dismissed in single figures, while South Africa’s Jacques Kallis top-scored with 24.

5. 101 all out vs Lucknow Super Giants

Pune was the venue in the 2022 IPL. Things looked particularly bad at 24 for five before West Indies pair Andre Russell and Sunil Narine scored 45 and 22, respectively.

This occurred during the 2009 IPL, which was played in South Africa. Chargers seamer RP Singh took full advantage of conducive conditions at Newlands in Cape Town for four wickets.

3. 95 all out vs Mumbai Indians

This also happened in 2009, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Mumbai’s West Indian seamer Dwayne Bravo and Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga shared five wickets at St George’s Park.

2. 84/8 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

This happened in Abu Dhabi during the 2020 Indian Premier League. KKR’s top five batters shared a mere 16 runs. Kolkata captain Eoin Morgan top-scored with 30 and got some help from New Zealand tail-ender Lockie Ferguson.

1. 67 all out vs Mumbai Indians

This happened during the 2008 IPL at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It is Kolkata’s lowest ever team total in the IPL – and the joint fifth lowest in the history of the tournament.
