Milne joins Black Caps corps in IPL

Fast bowler Adam Milne has joined an already impressive number of New Zealanders doing duty in the Indian Premier League having been drafted into the Mumbai Indians squad.
Milne comes in for Aussie paceman Pat Cummins who wasn’t up for an IPL campaign after a long Test season.
The quick joins former Black Caps teammate Mitchell McClenaghan in the group and is likely to compete directly with his compatriot for a place in the starting XI after solid displays from frontline seamers Jasprit Bumrah and Mustafizur Rahman.
McClenaghan himself was a replacement for another injured Australian paceman, Jason Behrendorff.
Milne’s arrival in India was lowkey but he was spotted training with the Mumbai Indians ahead of their clash with the Delhi Daredevils on Saturday.
The seamer will be enjoying his third IPL campaign though he didn’t get the game time he might have hoped for in his two previous stints with the Royal Challengers Bangalore registering just five matches.
Milne comes into the team off the back of an impressive season for Central Districts in New Zealand finishing with the highest ratio of dot balls in the Super Smash.
The quick has played 70 T20s to date bagging 83 wickets.
The Indians have suffered narrow defeats in their opening two matches of the campaign but have produced flashes of brilliant cricket.
