Ravi Bishnoi is among LSG's top wicket-takers in the history of the IPL.

Still relative newcomers to the IPL, the Lucknow Super Giants have played just three seasons of franchise cricket’s most prestigious tournament, but with a reasonable degree of success.

They finished third in their first two seasons before slumping to a seventh-place finish in 2024. With plenty of big-name players on their roster, they are already able to boast five players who have passed the 25-wicket mark.

One player definitely stands apart from the others at the top of the list, having extracted plenty of turn from the spinner-friendly Lucknow pitch – but who else is on the list? Let’s look and see who the leading wicket-takers for LSG in their first three years of IPL action have been.

5. Krunal Pandya – 25 wickets from 43 IPL matches for LSG at an average of 33.32

Krunal Pandya has been a crucial all-rounder for the Lucknow Super Giants, offering a dependable spin option while contributing with the bat – along with being their fifth highest wicket-taker, he is also their seventh highest run scorer.

With 25 wickets from 43 games at an average of 33.32, Krunal has often been called upon to stem the flow of runs in the middle overs. His left-arm orthodox spin has proven effective on slow and turning tracks, though he has generally been used as a defensive option rather than a strike bowler. Nevertheless, his role in maintaining control and providing vital breakthroughs makes him an important player in the LSG lineup.

4. Naveen-ul-Haq – 25 wickets from 18 IPL matches for LSG at an average of 23.64

Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq made an immediate impact since joining the Lucknow Super Giants. In just 18 games, he has picked up 25 wickets at an impressive average of 23.64. Known for his deceptive slower deliveries and clever variations, Naveen has been highly effective, especially in the middle and death overs.

His ability to execute under pressure made him a valuable asset, and his knack for picking up crucial wickets at key moments meant he was expected to be retained by the franchise for the 2025 season – but it wasn’t to be, and Naveen will not be part of the squad for the 2025 Indian Premier League season.

3. Avesh Khan – 26 wickets from 22 IPL matches for LSG at an average of 26.88

Indian fast bowler Avesh Khan has been an important part of LSG’s pace attack. With 26 wickets from 22 matches at an average of 26.88, Avesh has consistently delivered breakthroughs with the new ball and in the middle overs.

His ability to generate pace and extract bounce makes him a threat on most surfaces. Although he has occasionally struggled with consistency, Avesh’s aggressive bowling style and wicket-taking ability have been instrumental in several LSG victories. Avesh will be back with LSG for 2025.

2. Mohsin Khan – 27 wickets from 24 IPL matches for LSG at an average of 25.51

Left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan has emerged as one of the brightest prospects for LSG. With 27 wickets in 24 games at an average of 25.51, Mohsin’s ability to swing the new ball and bowl tight lines has made him a standout performer.

He has also shown great composure in the death overs, where his variations and control have helped restrict opposition batters. His left-arm angle adds variety to the bowling attack, making him a crucial component of the LSG bowling unit. Like Avesh Khan he too returns for 2025.

1. Ravi Bishnoi – 39 wickets from 43 IPL matches for LSG at an average of 31.53

At the top of the list is young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who has been a consistent wicket-taker for LSG. With 39 wickets from 43 matches at an average of 31.53, Bishnoi has used the spinner-friendly conditions in Lucknow to great effect. His quick-arm action, accuracy, and ability to bowl googlies make him a constant threat in the middle overs.

Bishnoi’s skill in breaking partnerships and maintaining pressure on opposing batters has seen him establish himself as the team’s leading wicket-taker – by a considerable margin. As he continues to develop, Bishnoi is expected to remain the spearhead of LSG’s spin attack for years to come in the IPL.
