Afridi believes Pakistan have the hunger to win

Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi says his side's World T20 game against New Zealand, in Mohali on Tuesday, will be tough but believes his team have the hunger to beat the unbeaten Kiwis.

The Blackcaps have won both their matches in the tournament so far, beating hosts India and Australia, while Pakistan beat Bangladesh and lost to India in their two games.

Pakistan's batting has let them down in the last while even before the global tournament started and Afridi wants his team to limit their mistakes.

Afridi told reporters on Monday: "No doubt, in tomorrow's match (against New Zealand), the opposition is strong and they have been playing well. But we have hunger to win.

"We have to stick to basics. Sometimes, you expect that miracles will happen but it does not work out that way. We will have to make less mistakes, as I said earlier.

"If one repeats mistakes, then it becomes difficult. We are not making big mistakes, but we will have to minimise even the smaller ones we are committing. Effort has to be made to minimise mistakes."
