Spinner Saeed Ajmal has been reported for a suspect bowling action, after Pakistan's seven-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka in first Test at the Galle International Stadium last week.

International Cricket Council regulations dictate that Ajmal must undergo testing withing 21 days – but is allowed to continue bowling until the results are ascertained.

Umpires Bruce Oxenford and Ian Gould, third official Richard Illingworth and match referee Andy Pycroft cited concerns over numerous deliveries during the series opener. The report has since been given to team manager Moin Khan.

The veteran Ajmal was reported for a similar suspicion in April 2009 – but was cleared a month later.

Sri Lanka's Sachithra Senenayake and New Zealand's Kane Williamson were, earlier this year, banned from bowling due to illegal bowling actions.
