Amla: Steyn’s commitment has him near 400

South Africa Test captain Hashim Amla says the whole team will rejoice when Dale Steyn reaches his 400th Test wicket, potentially in the first Test against Bangladesh at Chittagong this week.
Steyn is on 396 wickets, and is in line to become just the 12th bowler to reach that milestone, and only the second South African after Shaun Pollock. Amla credits Steyn's commitment to the team as the reason for his success.
Amla said of Steyn's impending milestone: "Four hundred Test wickets is something that is extremely special especially because in probably every match he has played in, Dale has made some contribution.
"During this series, there is no doubt that everybody else will really enjoy the success he gets. We know the amount of work he has put in and the impact he has had on this team.
"The commitment he bowls with is why he has managed to be so successful. His action and his style of bowling, especially if the ball starts to reverse swing, is really dangerous.
"There's very few bowlers in the world who can be as successful on flat wickets as what Dale has been. It's a combination of everything: the way he bowls, his commitment and his hunger to put in a big performance when the team needs it."
Steyn has played 78 Tests for his 396 wickets, while his popular rival, in the media anyway, James Anderson has played 106 Tests for England, and recently hit the 400 mark. Anderson is on 406 currently.
