Ashes injury scare for James Anderson
England have been handed an Ashes injury scare after Jimmy Anderson pulled up while bowling for Lancashire in the County Championship.
The 36-year-old had already pulled up a couple of times during his 19th over for the Red Rose in their Division Two clash with Durham at Sedbergh.
He then walked off the pitch after only two completed deliveries, with what the ECB later confirmed to be “tightness” in his right calf.
INJURY UPDATE: James Anderson has sustained tightness to his right calf. He will not bowl again in the game and will continue to be assessed.

Josh Bohannon finished off the over with Anderson seen stretching out his right leg before deciding to retreat to the dressing room in order to prevent any further damage.
The England star, who would be an automatic choice for the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston in four weeks’ time, will not bowl again in this match but will bat if required.
Anderson is England’s all-time leading Test wicket-taker and his home form over recent years has become the stuff of legend. Just this week he took his 950th first-class wicket.
The injury to Anderson comes on the eve of a huge World Cup game for England against New Zealand, where a win would secure a semi-final place.
