Batting trio appointed on India advisory committee

The BCCI have announced that India batting greats Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman have been appointed to a cricket advisory committee that will help the Board with all major cricket related issues.

The trio, who for so long shaped India's middle-order batting, have all accepted the positions but have not yet been advised on what the role entails.

Ganguly said: "I have just come to know about the committee, rest I don't know. I don't even know what is the role of the advisory committee. (But) I am happy to work with Sachin and Laxman."

While Laxman tweeted: "It's indeed a honour 2 be part of the BCCI Cricket Advisory Committee. Will give my best & continue 2 contribute 2 Indian cricket"

BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya said in a press release: "I am happy to note that our eminent cricketers have come forward to lend their experience and insights as we work towards a common goal of taking Indian Cricket to greater heights.

"The coming generations are bound to benefit from the guidance that will be provided by these luminaries and will go a long way in strengthening our existing system."
