Bayliss reflects positively on first summer

Trevor Bayliss has reflected positively on his first summer in charge of the England team, saying victory in the Ashes series against Australia made it special.
Bayliss, who took charge of England two weeks before the Ashes, guided the Three Lions to a three-two series win over his countrymen to regain the urn.
The England coach said: "It has been great, I suppose winning has made it a little bit easier to take. Certainly everyone in English cricket has made me feel very welcome, especially the boys, the other management and the coaches. It has been really good.
"The Ashes win was a highlight. The game for me was down at Edgbaston. To come back from the flopping we got at Lord's was a fantastic effort.
"The crowd down there was also really good, the atmosphere was superb. That really gave the guys the kick along they needed.
"To end up winning that fourth match (at Trent Bridge), you almost had to pinch yourself the way it went on that first morning. Plenty of things to remember and remember for a long time."
Bayliss believes his team have a bright future particularly in ODI cricket even though they went down three-two in the five-match series against the Aussies.
The England mentor continued: "The attitude of the players, they want to play positive and aggressive cricket.
"But they want to get better, they realise they have played some good cricket and come a long way but if they want to be the best in the world, they have got a lot of hard work to do.
"Most of them are only mid-twenties so they have got a lot of time in front of them, and a lot of hard work. The skill level of the players actually in the team going forward is very exciting."
