BCB postpones Zimbabwe Test series

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have decided to postpone the planned two-match Test series against Zimbabwe in January so that the national side can prepare for the World T20.

Zimbabwe were supposed to have completed a full tour to the Asian country after the two sides played three ODIs and two T20Is in November, with the Tigers winning the 50-overs series three-nil while the teams shared the T20 contest.

The World T20 starts in India in March next year and Bangladesh are scheduled to host the Asia Cup as a warm-up to the global event.

BCB president Nazmul Hassan said: "It is necessary for us to prepare for the Asia Cup T20 and the World T20 which are two important tournaments.

"Many of our T20 players aren't in the Test squad so if we play Test cricket at that time, they won't be able to prepare."

The BCB have not indicated when they are planning to play the Test series against the African side.
