BCCI elect Manohar as president, again

The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) have named lawyer Shashank Manohar as their new president, following the death of Jagmohan Dalmiya last month due to a heart attack and complications.
Manohar takes the role for a second time, as he was the president from 2008 to 2011. He was the lone candidate for the role, and the BCCI announced his appointment on Sunday.
Manohar is famous for breaking the spot-fixing scandal in the IPL in 2013, as well as for suspending Lalit Modi, the founder of the IPL, during allegations of financial irregularities in 2010.
The 58-year-old will serve until 2017, when a new candidate will be elected according to the BCCI's zone rotation policy. He will be tasked with cleaning up the BCCI's image following the spot-fixing scandals of recent years.
BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur said of the appointment: "I'm sure under Mr. Shashank Manohar's able leadership, cricket will grow with every passing day."
