Bopara extends Essex contract

Essex County Cricket Club have announced that England all-rounder Ravi Bopara has signed a new one year contract with the club, bucking the current trend of counties sending their senior players packing.
Bopara, 29, has spent his entire First-Class career with Essex after making his debut in 2002. He has scored 1,482 runs over the three formats for the Club this season, once again demonstrating his talent with the bat.
The all-rounder has played 108 One Day Internationals for England, alongside 13 Test Matches. He has recently been recalled to the England ODI Squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
Head Coach Paul Grayson said: “I am absolutely delighted that Ravi has signed his new contract. He has become one of the senior figures in our dressing room, and is a key component of our side in each form of the game.
“He has been with Essex for a long time, and it is great news for all our Members and fans that he has signed his new deal.”
