Bravo takes WICB to court

West Indies batsman Darren Bravo has elected to take legal action against the West Indies Cricket Board after he was sent home from the tour to Zimbabwe over comments made on social media.

Bravo is claiming that he was unlawfully dismissed after contract negotiations went sour and he slammed WICB President Dave Cameron on twitter which ultimately led to him being axed from the team in Zimbabwe.

The Trinidad and Tobago Guardian has reported that Bravo has served legal papers to Cameron and the WICB for what he calls unlawful dismissal.

Bravo tweeted his criticism of the WICB and slammed them for suggesting that he had been offered an A grade contract, he would go on to call Cameron a ‘Big idiot’ in the post.

The batsman was unhappy that despite being the West Indies leading batsman he has been offered an inferior compensation package.

Cricket operations manager Richard Pybus asked Bravo to remove the tweet and apologise but the Tweet remains and Bravo is resolute in his refusal to offer an apology.
