Bravo: We all still need to dig deeper

Captain Dwayne Bravo implored the West Indies to put in a stronger performance, come Friday's second ODI against Bangladesh at the National Cricket Stadium in St George's, Grenada.

The Windies won Wednesday's series opener by three wickets, but were in a considerable amount of trouble before all-rounder Kieron Pollard and wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Ramdin orchestrated a rearguard 145-run alliance.

"We all still need to dig deeper and not depend on the lower order to help us win matches. Our bowlers more often than not deliver for us, so it is time for the batsmen to do so as well," said Bravo.

"We want to play aggressive, fearless cricket. We have some important players in our set-up, like Chris Gayle and Pollard, and the management back them no matter what the situation.

"There is a lot of room for improvement, especially after the shaky start. It is good to see two of our top five batsmen can score the big runs, though. I expect a lot more with the newer ball."

The hosts are expected to retain the same XI, while spin bowler Nikita Miller and all-rounder Darren Sammy might be afforded a return for the third and final ODI at Warner Park in St Kitts on Monday.
