England will be without Yorkshire pace bowler Tim Bresnan for the one-off T20 against India at Edgbaston on Sunday, after he picked up a shoulder injury.

Bresnan was not part of the ODI side that lost the series three-one, but was called up for the T20. He then picked up a shoulder strain, and the selectors opted to leave him on the sidelines.

The ECB confirmed on Friday night: "Bresnan will not be replaced in the squad for the match providing there are no concerns over the fitness of bowlers currently playing in the final match of the ODI series."

Bresnan will return for Yorkshire next week as the injury is not overly serious. He last played for England in March this year, in the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.
