Broad cleared of serious foot injury

England will likely be able to call on fast bowler Stuart Broad in the fourth Ashes Test in Melbourne on Boxing Day, after scans showed no fractures on his right foot.
England will likely be able to call on fast bowler Stuart Broad in the fourth Ashes Test in Melbourne on Boxing Day, after scans showed no fractures on his right foot.
Broad was struck on the foot while batting in England's first innings in Perth, with Mitchell Johnson the perpetrator. The yorker also resulted in Broad's LBW dismissal.
There were fears that he would not be available to play at the MCG, a big blow for England considering the toothless nature of the attack in Perth, but scan revealed the injury to be less serious than first feared.
The ECB said on their Twitter account: "Scans revealed no evidence of a fracture. He will continue to receive treatment on his right foot and will be reviewed on a regular basis ahead of the fourth Test."
