Collingwood: England can win the World T20

Paul Collingwood believes the current England T20I squad will be dangerous at the upcoming World T20 and have the players to go on and win the tournament.

Collingwood, who was the captain when the Three Lions lifted the global title in the shortest format in 2010, feels England's power-packed batting line up could carry them a long way in the tournament.

Skipper Eoin Morgan, Alex Hales, Ben Stokes , Jos Buttler, Jason Roy and Joe Root all have the ability to take the game away  from the opposition and Collingwood, who will be with the side in India as a batting consultant, is positive.

Collingwood said: "With players like that, you'll always have a chance to win major tournaments. The fielding is world-class, the batting line-up is powerful right down to nine or 10. There are good things happening in this team.

"Everybody has seen the way white-ball cricket has been going over the past year, it's been very exciting.

"We need to realise the good things they've been doing the past year, the way they've played their cricket, these guys are very much athletes now. If they play like they did against Australia or New Zealand they can beat anyone."

England start their World T20 campaign against the West Indies in Mumbai.
