De Villiers will not walk away from IPL

South Africa captain AB de Villiers says he will not give up his contract in the Indian Premier League, amid concerns about his workload for the national side.
During the recent Test series against England, the newly appointed Proteas Test skipper gave a strong indication that he could retire from at least one format of game in international cricket.
However, now that De Villiers has taken over from Hashim Amla as the leader in the longest format he obviously gave some sort of commitment to the board of Cricket South Africa that he would play Tests in the long-term.
The dynamic batsman has a contract with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL and is an important member of the franchise, and De Villiers feels the T20 tournament has helped him grow as a player.
De Villiers told reporters: "I'm still going to play in the IPL. It would be stupid of me to turn my back on that. It has played a big role in my career. It helped me grow as a player.
"I see IPL as a really important part of my career. So I'm not going to let that go. But there are some other areas that I'll look at to rest a little bit."
