Dhoni: Bumrah is the find of the tour
India's limited-overs captain MS Dhoni has heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah, saying the seamer was the find of the recent tour to Australia, where the Asian side whitewashed the hosts three-nil in the T20I series.
The 22 year-old Bumrah only came into the squad as a replacement for the injured Mohammad Shami but gave the India bowling attack another dimension, especially in the death overs.
The right-arm Bumrah made his ODI debut in final game of the five-match ODI series and played in all three T20Is, taking eight wickets in the four games.
Dhoni said on Sunday after the third T20I: "The find [of the tour] for me was Bumrah. The way he has bowled in the last three games was really good. What looks good is Bumrah as a potential player.
"He's looking really good, and even today he bowled the yorkers well. And I've always said that to be successful in the shorter format you have to execute the yorkers.
"Whether you choose to bowl it or not is up to you, but if you don't have that option, then definitely at some point of time, you will be under pressure."
Bumrah, who played for the Mumbai Indians in last year's Indian Premier League, is now a near certainty to be included in India's squad for the World T20, which they will be hosting in March.
