An court has reportedly issued Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni with an arrest warrant.

A local court has reportedly issued Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni with an arrest warrant.

According to <i>Geo News</i>, Dhoni has been charged with "denigrating" Hindu god Vishnu after posing for a controversial advertisement in the April 2013 edition of the Business Today magazine.

The court in Andhra Pradesh had issued a summons on three occasions prior to the arrest warrant, but Dhoni did not appear. He is currently in the United Kingdom ahead of a tough series against England.

Social activist Jia Kumar allegedly filed the case against Dhoni initially. Similar petitions acknowledged in Delhi and Pune.
