Dhoni urges India to lift run rate against Tigers

Ahead of their game against Bangladesh in Bangalore on Wednesday, India captain MS Dhoni has urged his side to lift their net run rate as all the teams fight for a spot in the semifinals at the World T20.

The host nation lost their opening game against New Zealand but bounced back to beat Asian rivals Pakistan in Kolkata to get back on track in their quest to lift the trophy on home soil.

Group two of the Super 10 stages sees New Zealand running away so with two wins from two while India, Australia and Pakistan have one victory and one defeat behind them.

Only two teams make it to the semifinals stages so net run rate will come into the equation and Dhoni has urged his team to take note of it otherwise they could face an embarrassing early exit.

Dhoni told reporters: "I still feel there is still scope for improvement and in the coming two games that will be our priority.

"In the first game our run rate went down. So it's not only about winning but you have to take care of the run-rate at some point."
