Dickwella fined on debut

Sri Lanka wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella has copped a match fee fine of 10 percent – and an official reprimand – after claiming an unfair catch during the second and final Test against South Africa in Colombo.
The transgression occurred in the seventh over of day three at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on Saturday, when batsman AB de Villiers' edge down the leg-side bounced before the ball landed in Dickwella's gloves. The debutant appealed regardless.
He later admitted to a level one breach of the International Cricket Council's code of conduct, which relates to behaviour either "contrary to the spirit of the game" or "brings the game into disrepute." The 21-year-old accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Jeff Crowe.
Sunday saw the South Africans slip to to 38 for one – and a hefty 331-run deficit – on a rain-affected fourth day of the series decider. The Proteas won the first match by 153 runs at the Galle International Stadium last week.
