Captain Faf du Plessis is eager to strike a balance, come South Africa's two-match Twenty20 International series against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium this week.

The Proteas one the preceding ODI series four-one, and are eager to complete a tour that also featured two Tests on a characteristically triumphant note.

With next year's World Twenty20 in Bangladesh nearing, though, an immediate need to establish successful combinations and gameplans exists.

"I think it's nice to go into the series with a momentum and the confidence is there although it's a different format and slightly different team but we look forward to it," said du Plessis.

"We must find the right balance with the World Twenty20 in the sub-continent, which will have similar conditions to here."

Pakistan and South Africa have met in T20I cricket on eight previous occasions, with the former triumphant four times and the latter thrice – and one washout.
