England have announced that they will go on an ODI tour to Sri Lanka in late November until mid-December in order to prepare for the World Cup to be played in Australasia in February next year.
England have announced that they will go on an ODI tour to Sri Lanka in late November until mid-December in order to prepare for the World Cup to be played in Australasia in February next year.
Sri Lanka recently beat England in a the five-match ODI series in the UK, winning the fifth ODI under controversial circumstances to take the series three-two. The trip at the end of the year will offer a chance for revenge.
The ECB website read: "Sri Lanka Cricket has today confirmed the England itinerary for the tour to Sri Lanka in November and December 2014.
"The itinerary will comprise seven One-Day Internationals and two warm-up matches with the tour starting and finishing in the Sri Lanka capital, Colombo."
After this tour, England will return to the UK for the festive season, and then go to Australia in January for a triangular series against the Aussies and India. Form there they will proceed to the World Cup.
