Eranga recalled for Test series in England

Sri Lanka's new selection panel, headed by Sanath Jayasuriya, have chosen a squad for their three-match Test series in England which includes a recall for fast bowler Shaminda Eranga.
The 17-man squad also sees first Test call ups for batsmen Dasun Shanaka and Dhananjaya de Silva while opener Kaushal Silva will also tour having recovered from a knock to the head in a practice game.
The 24-year-old De Silva hit 868 runs at an average of 54.25 for Tamil Union in the first-class season while Shanaka, who has played in 10 T20Is, averages 38.12 in 30 first-class matches.
A right-arm seamer, Eranga last played a Test in December 2014, against New Zealand in Christchurch, having been laid low by an assortment of injuries.
The 29-year-old Eranga was one of the standout performers when Sri Lanka won their first ever Test series in England in 2014.
The 38-year-old Rangana Herath, who has 297 Test wickets, will carry the spin attack which also sees offspinner Dilruwan Perera chosen.
Sri Lanka's first Test against England will start on 19 May at Headingley.
