Faf ‘frustrated’ to be ruled out of series

South Africa batsman Faf du Plessis says he is frustrated about being ruled out of the ODI series against New Zealand with a knee injury, as he feels his in good form with the bat.

Du Plessis missed the T20 series with the left knee injury and it was hoped he'd be fit for the ODIs, but CSA confirmed on Wednesday that he'd be out of action for the next month too.

Du Plessis said while commentating during the first ODI at Centurion: "It's frustrating for me because I feel good and in form.

"Brandon Jackson, the physiotherapist, said I will need about three or four weeks of no running at all and then can get back into training."

Du Plessis' absence saw Rilee Rossouw bat at three in Faf's place and do very well, alongside centurion Hashim Amla, as the Proteas got enough runs on the board to win the opening game by 20 runs.
