Floodlights will be on standby at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota, come Sri Lanka and South Africa's third ODI on Saturday.

Sunday's series opener at the R Premadasa Stadium, which the tourists won by 75 runs on the back of a fine century from batsman Hashim Amla, was hampered by fading light.

Sri Lanka Cricket and Cricket South Africa have since reversed a decision which disallowed the use of artificial lighting for day matches. Wednesday's second fixture at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium is a day-night affair.

"Both Sri Lanka and South Africa teams and their respective boards are in agreement to use lights in the event the light deteriorates during the third ODI of the South Africa tour of Sri Lanka," read a statement from Sri Lanka Cricket.
