Gayle: India dominating because of IPL

India

Chris Gayle thinks that the Indian Premier League has a lot to do with how the India national team is performing in all formats of the game on the world stage.

The big-hitting West Indian, who plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, says young Indian cricketers are benefiting the most from the T20 extravaganza.

Gayle told telegraph.co.uk: "Look at Indian cricket at the moment. They are dominating all forms of the game now and the reason is the IPL.

"The players touch shoulders with their international opponents. They share the same dressing rooms. They know what they are thinking. Then they become bolder performing for their countries.

"That is because of IPL and it is fantastic."

Gayle will now head home to participate in the Caribbean Premier League for the Jamaica Tallawahs.
