Gayle ‘not part of Renegades’ plans’

The Melbourne Renegades have announced that Chris Gayle will not feature for the Big Bash League franchise next season.
This effectively comes in the wake of another sexism row after Gayle made inappropriate comments to a female journalist recently.
Gayle had been in hot water previously when he asked Australian reporter Mel McLaughlin out for drinks live on the air, uttering his now infamous quip “don't blush baby.”
Melbourne Renegades' chief executive Stuart Coventry has gone on the record to state: “We'll unveil our international signings soon and Chris isn't part of those plans.”
It is likely that Gayle will be disciplined by Somerset County Cricket Club, to whom the West Indian is also contracted after Gayle's interview with an English journalist waded into the all too familiar territory of brash sexism. Gayle claimed to have "a very, very big bat, the biggest in the wooooorld," before going on to say "You think you could lift it? You'd need two hands."
The big West Indian has become something of a T20 expert, representing the Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore in India's IPL as well as the Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades in Australia's BBL. The 36-year-old Jamaican has also had stints in South Africa, Zimbabawe, Pakistan and England but his comments are in danger of rendering him a liability to prospective employers.
Gayle is currently on duty with the Royal Challengers Bangalore but will return to Somerset at the end of the IPL.
