Gul rejoins Pakistan squad

Fast bowler Umar Gul has been added to Pakistan's squad for the final three fixtures of this month's five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates.

Fast bowler Umar Gul has been added to Pakistan's squad for the final three fixtures of this month's five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates.

Gul has recovered from the knee injury that has sidelined him from international cricket since March – and will be available for the third fixture on Sunday.

"The national selection committee in consultation with the tour selection committee has decided to send Umar Gul to UAE as part of national ODI squad. He will join the Pakistan team on 22 December," read a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Pakistan, meanwhile, have been fined for a slow over-rate during Friday's two-wicket defeat at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

"Match referee David Boon of Australia imposed the fines after Pakistan were ruled to be one over short of their target, after time allowances were taken into consideration," read a statement from the International Cricket Council.

In accordance with the ICC code of conduct, players are fined 10 percent of their match fees for every over not bowled within the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.
