Hafeez cleared to bowl in domestic series

Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez will be allowed to bowl in his home country's domestic competitions, while his international ban for an illegal action is still in effect.

The PCB have said that Hafeez is clear to play in their domestic T20 event, and he will play for the Lahore Whites this month. This only applies to series run by the PCB, though.

An ICC official confirmed to the Cricket Australia website: "A bowler suspended in international cricket can bowl in domestic cricket with the permission of his home board.

"The logic behind this provision is to allow the home board and the player concerned the opportunity to monitor improvement in his bowling action in a match situation, and when happy, apply for reassessment."

While his international ban is in effect, Hafeez cannot be signed by a Big Bash League club, for example. He is serving a 12-month ban and cannot be re-tested by the ICC in that time. It will run out in June 2016.
