Hampshire confirm Tahir signing

South Africa spinner Imran Tahir will return to Hampshire for the final two games of the County season, in mid-September, pending the finalisation of his visa clearance.
South Africa spinner Imran Tahir will return to Hampshire for the final two games of the County season, in mid-September, pending the finalisation of his visa clearance.
The former Pakistani leg-spinner played for Hants between 2008 and 2011, and will be the overseas signing after fellow Proteas player Kyle Abbott's departure recently. He won't play in the Royal One-Day Cup, though.
The club's statement read: "Hampshire Cricket can confirm that leg-spinner Imran Tahir has signed for the Club subject to visa clearance.
"The South-African will only be available for Hampshire's last two LV= County Championship matches against Kent at the Ageas Bowl and Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium."
Tahir first has to play a tri-series in Zimbabwe, against the hosts and Australia, before he can make his way to Southampton. Paddy Power have tipped the Proteas to win this three-way challenge.
