Harbhajan part of full-strength Test squad

India have named a full-strength touring party for the Bangladesh Test and ODIs, while also handing a recall to veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh, who has been impressive in the IPL for Mumbai.

'Bhajji' has not played for India since March 2013, but his form in the IPL has been such that he demanded a look-in, while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been dropped from the Test side.

The BCCI said: "Harbhajan has been discussed earlier as well. The selection committee has picked Harbhajan due to the strength of Bangladesh batting especially the number of left-handers they have.

"It was decided that Harbhajan should be there for these reasons. Captain Virat Kohli's opinion was also taken on this."

India fans will also be relieved that the likes of Kohli are included in both squads, with rumours floating around that the Test skipper wanted to sit out the series after playing a long tour in Australia, the World Cup, and the IPL.

But all senior players have been included, though fast bowler Mohammed Shami is absent due to injury. He has been replaced in the ODI squad by Dhawal Kulkarni.
