South Africa will be without fast bowler Beuran Hendricks for the ODI series against Zimbabwe, denying him a debut in the format, after he picked up a back injury in Australia.

Hendricks has played a handful of T20s for the Proteas but was in line for his one-day debut as the Proteas will be without their senior seamers. But while playing for South Africa A Down Under, he picked up a lumbar strain.

As such, the Proteas will have a very inexperienced pace attack against their neighbours, with Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander all rested. As such, Wayne Parnell will be the senior man, such as it is.

He will be joined by Marchant de Lange, who has battled many injuries since his debut in 2012 and has not played for SA since then, as well as Kyle Abbott and new recruit Mthokozisi Shezi.

CSA have decided not to call up another paceman, looking to see what the youngsters, who have 37 caps between them (34 to Parnell) can do when given the chance to shine.
