India gamble on Yadav
India have rested Ravichandran Ashwin and selected the uncapped chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav in the 14-man squad for the first three One Day Internationals (ODIs) against the West Indies.
Other changes to the side see legspinner Karn Sharma missing out in favour of Amit Mishra, while wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, Stuart Binny and Dhawal Kulkarni miss out on selection as well.
Kuldeep is yet to play a domestic 50-over match and his entire senior experience consists of eight T20 matches.
He has been in impressive form for the Kolkatta Knight Riders in the on-going Champions League T20, though, and have earned his call-up based on those performances.
Murali Vijay also retains his place in the squad after Rohit Sharma failed to recover from the injury he sustained during the tour of England earlier this year.
The first of the five ODIs against the touring West Indies takes place in Kochi on October 8.
